New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Alexandre is a plaintain, banana, and livestock farmer living in Leveque with his 18 year-old son Steven Alexi, who dreams of going to a university.

Alexandre moved to Leveque from Cabaret after his home was destroyed and he heard about the tent distribution in Leveque.

For the past 5 years he has lived in a tent, leaving him vulnerable to sanitation-borne diseases, theft, and violence. Alexandre faces multiple challenges, including trouble with his eyes and inability to drink the water in his tent because it’s too hot. Recently, his home was robbed when he was gone to Cabaret. When it rains, his roof leaks and damages his few possessions.

Alexandre says that a new home will undeniably give him a better life.
