Meet D’Jems and his family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about 1-2 months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
D’Jems is a 36 year old furniture maker who is praying for the day that he is reunited with his girlfriend Marie and 8 year old daughter D’jemsline (who is working hard in 2nd grade to fulfill her dream of being a doctor).

When they lost their home in Cabaret after the earthquake, they were given a thin tarp tent to live in. The dangerous living conditions made young D’jemsline fall ill, causing her and Marie to move to another town, Archaie. D’jems works hard to reunite his family and hopes to marry Marie when their family is back together under one roof.

Your donation will give a life-changing home to this young family in need. “(With a new home) I will be so relieved, so many problems will be solved”, D’Jems tells us. More than just a shelter, this house means safety, health, possibilities, and reunion.
