Meet Katrine and her family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Katrine is a 69 year-old widow who lost her house in the 2010 earthquake. Since living in a tent, she has gone blind. Poor health is but one of the many dangers faced when living in a thin, tattered tent for years.

She dreams of having something to eat on a daily basis. Sadly, this has not been her reality thus far. When she gets a new home, she said, “I will be very happy and feel at peace and be at ease. I will say thank you and always pray for the person who gave me the house because I didn’t have anything.”

A new home will reunite Katrine with her family. Her daughter, granddaughter, and 6 year-old great-grandson will come to live with her once her house is built.

Together, we can provide a safe and stable home in which Katrine’s family can thrive.
