Meet Mireille and family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Mireille is a 35 year old mother of 2. She lives with her grandfather in a tent. Her 8 year old daughter Sralencia and 12 year old son Augustin do not live with her because of the harsh living conditions. Sadly, she only sees her children on weekends.

This family lived in Cabaret before the earthquake and lost all of their possessions when their home was destroyed. She has been living in unsafe, unsanitary conditions for over 5 years. She shared with us how water pours in whenever it rains and how and she and cannot even keep food in her dwelling because it becomes swarmed with insects.

Sralencia aspires to be a teacher and Augustin would love to be a driver. They are both hard working students and a new home would mean their family can be reunited and live under one safe, clean roof.
