Anita is the 21 year old mother of a young son and, since the tragic earthquake of 2010, has lived in a thin tarp tent with her son, mother, father (not pictured) and a little girl part of their extended family. Their "home" leaves them vulnerable to natural disaster, robbery, illness, and violence.
While Pierre, a farmer, and Anita, a merchant, work hard each day they do not have the resources to build a new home.
Together we can help remove Anita and her family from this dangerous environment and into a safe home. This would bring them safety, security, reliable sanitation and hope. It would give them a life-changing story.
Investments from private donors allows New Story to pass 100% of public donations straight to home projects.
When she got the keys to her new home, Anita shared, “It’s a huge difference from the tent. We now have safety and a place to live as a family.”
After five horrific years of living in a dangerous tent, on March 23rd, 2015, Anita and her family moved into their new house – a place for peace, security, legacy, and opportunity.
Anita, her children, and New Story would like to thank each and every donor!
