Meet Clermond and his family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Clermond was once a hospital janitor whose home in Port-au-Prince was destroyed in the earthquake. He moved to Leveque with his two sons Pascal and Fontaine (finishing secondary school). He is hopeful that moving into a new home will improve his health so that he can secure employment again.

Life in the tent has been very difficult on this family. They suffer heat-related illness and loss of eyesight, and Clermond tells us “the tent is so thin it can be sliced with a knife” - they are highly susceptible to theft.

A home for this family means protection from disease and theft. It also means renewed hope and a foundation to take advantage of future opportunities.
