Meet Geneste and his family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about 1-2 months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Geneste is a farmer living with his son Woodley (age 12) who dreams of being a doctor. Geneste believes that despite his unfortunate circumstances, he can overcome poverty through hard work.

Geneste took an active role in the earthquake relief efforts, clearing the land that the tents were placed on. The small home he was proud of was destroyed, and he has been living in the Leveque tent slum ever since.

For Geneste, a new home means the end of heat-induced sickess’ and an improved business which will allow him to create value for his family and community.
