Meet Marie Mireille and her family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about 2 months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Marie Mireille (sells rice, beans, and oil) and Leon (driver) work hard to take care of their family of 6, but struggles to do so because of their living conditions.

Their 4 children (ranging from ages 4 to 18) had to go and live in a friend’s house because the tent’s unbearable heat makes it unlivable. Marie tells us that the tent is not a good place for children, as it exposes families to violence, harsh weather, and sanitation-borne diseases.

Marie’s dream is for her family to have a better life than she did, a dream that is possible through a house. With a new home, “I will live in another way, like a new life,” Marie says. “I will say thank you to God!”Help us make Marie’s dream a reality and provide a stable, safe, and healthy home for her family.
