New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.
Their Story
Monique and Pierre welcomed their sixth child into the world in 2014, but the child became very sick from living in the tent. The poor living conditions often make inhabitants ill, especially children.
A doctor warned Monique that the baby would die if she continued to live this way, so Monique moved with two of her children to a friend’s block house. Since then, she has been separated from her husband and children, who range from ages 10 months to 15 years.
Though Monique used to be a businesswoman, right now she has been unable to find work. Without a job, she does not have the financial means to secure a home to reunite her family and remove them from their unbearably hot tent.
Monique says that when she receives a new home, she will be filled with pride and gratitude.
We can reunite this family and remove them from a potentially deadly environment by building a house that provides safety, health, and opportunity
Investments from private donors allows New Story to pass 100% of public donations straight to home projects.
