Meet Seriense and family

What happens next?
New Story gives 100% of your donations (including cc processing fees) to our incredibly trustworthy and competent local partner, Mission of Hope, who has local Haitian contractors ready to start building. It will take about two months to build the home, and every donor will get an update once the home is complete.

Their Story
Seriense and her husband Lectone have been married for 19 years. They live in a tent slum with their daughter Venette (14). Venette is a 7th grader who studies hard to one day become a banker. It’s hard to focus on academics when living in a crowded, hot, unsafe tent exposed to the elements and intruders.

This family lived in a brick home in Cabaret before the earthquake but now they suffer from heat-related eye troubles among other tent-related health issues. A new home is a chance at renewed health, safety, and the ability to focus on seizing academic and career opportunities.
