Wilna is a 28 year old newlywed. She lives with her husband Alex (30) and 2 daughters Kethina (6) and Chole (7 months). Wilna and Alex have big dreams. Wilna wants to make a living from her sewing skills, Alex aspires to be a journalist, and they both want a safe home for their very young daughters.
For 5 years they were living in a tent, but even that was taken from them when a recent hurricane destroyed it. They were left with nothing. This exemplifies the lack of safety and vulnerability of tent-life. Now her family is separated and living in the homes of extended relatives. Wilna said, “I will be so proud to have my own home and thankful to have my children living with me again”.
You can take part in bringing this family together again in a new, safe home.

After five horrific years of living in a dangerous tent, on July 11th, 2015, Alex, Wilna and their 2 daughters Kethina and Chole moved into their new house – a place for peace, security, legacy, and opportunity.
When asked by our local partner, Mission of Hope, what has changed Alex responded, “We can now live together. We have a peaceful place to call home.”
Alex, Wilna, their family and New Story would like to thank you writing this new story.
The best way to continue to help is too share their story and yours.
